What do homeowners ask about Ash Cleanup?

Why not just hose it off?

Ash mixed with water creates a mildly caustic slurry. If you spray ash with a regular hose, you smear it across the panel and force the alkaline solution into the panel seal. Dry-removal first, then DI rinse.

How fast do I need to act?

Within 7 days is the goal. Sooner is better. After 2-3 weeks of moisture cycling, ash etching becomes permanent and may require hard-water-stain treatment with reduced recovery.

Will my insurance cover this?

Sometimes. Homeowner's policies often cover smoke and ash damage from a declared fire event. We provide before-and-after photos and a written cause-and-effect statement that supports the claim. Worth a call to your adjuster.
